- A healthy diet should include a balance of foods from all food groups.

WHAT’S IN YOUR FOOD?
Conventional (chemical) farming: in the 1940’s a movement started. Farmers could increase yields by spraying their crops with pesticides that would get rid of insects. These insects are now increasingly more resistant to these pesticides. Pesticides not only stay in the soil for decades, but they also travel into our water supplies and into the air we breathe.
Organic Farming: Highly regulated by the USDA. Organic farming uses environmentally friendly methods of crop and livestock production. Some of the rules an organic farmer or food producer must follow:
- No Synthetic pesticides, herbicides, or fungicides may be used
- No synthetic fertilizers, synthetic hormones, or antibiotics maybe used
- Prohibits use of sewage sludge as fertilizer
- Requires 100% organic feed for organic livestock
- No Genetically Modified Organisms
To reduce everyone’s toxic overload Eatin’ Healthy will use organic
ingredients whenever possible. We will also
use locally grown produce that will be at the peak
of freshness.
